Privacy policy
Your meditation history stays on your device unless you choose to sign in. Like any website, Meditation Monkey still makes ordinary hosting and privacy-focused performance requests when it loads. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising. Last updated July 2026.
🐒 Practice data while signed out
Meditation Monkey works without an account. Your practice events, ratings, streak cache, avatar, theme, voice and session preferences, sense-sampler progress, time zone, and chosen display name are kept in your browser or app storage, using localStorage and IndexedDB. We do not upload that practice data while you are signed out.
Clearing this site's storage removes the local copy. Whether uninstalling alone also clears it depends on your browser or device. These local records are separate from the ordinary web-request information described below.
🌐 Ordinary hosting and analytics
Cloudflare delivers and protects the site, runs its server functions and database, and processes normal request information such as IP address, requested address, browser details, and timing for security, reliability, and operational logs. Cloudflare may provide aggregate traffic and performance measurements derived from those ordinary hosting requests. We do not add analytics cookies or localStorage or use those measurements to follow people across websites.
This hosting, security, and performance traffic happens whether or not you sign in; it does not upload the meditation history stored locally on your device. The app's fonts are served from Meditation Monkey's own site rather than fetched from a font provider.
🔑 Data synced after Google sign-in
Google is the only public sign-in option currently offered. If you choose it, we store only what is needed to identify your account, keep it secure, and sync the app:
- Your Google account's stable identifier, verified email address when Google provides it, display name, and a Meditation Monkey user ID.
- Practice events: technique, category, elapsed minutes, local practice day and timestamp, optional 1–3 rating, and the link between a later rating and its session.
- Preferences: guidance mode, chime, guide voice, sense-sampler state, time zone, avatar, theme, and the display name you choose in the app.
- A random sign-in cookie, plus its hashed server record, expiry time, and browser user-agent. The cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days and is not used for advertising.
We do not ask for contacts, precise location, health records, or advertising identifiers. Derived totals such as streaks and levels are rebuilt from your practice events rather than stored as a separate cloud profile.
🛠️ Problem reports you choose to send
No error report is sent automatically. If you open “Report a problem,” type a message, and press Send, the report includes your message, the current page path and query, the app version, and your browser/device user-agent so the problem can be investigated. Please do not type sensitive information into the report.
Problem reports are separate support records, not part of your synced account, so deleting your account does not automatically delete a report you voluntarily sent. Problem reports are retained for up to 90 days after submission.
🤝 How data is used and shared
We use account data only to sign you in, sync your history and settings, calculate your in-app progress and recommendations, protect the service, and investigate a problem report you send. We do not sell personal information, show targeted ads, or share data with data brokers. Cloudflare processes data as our hosting provider, and Google processes the sign-in you choose under its own terms.
🗑️ Retention and deletion
Synced account data remains in the active database until you delete the account. You can sign out of one device or all devices at any time. Profile → Delete account immediately removes your active account, identity, sessions, synced practice events, and preferences, and clears the app's account data from the device where you delete it. It does not delete your Google account.
Cloudflare may retain limited request logs or restricted infrastructure recovery copies for its own retention window before they age out. Those are not active Meditation Monkey accounts and are not available through the app. Data left in another browser's local storage is controlled by that browser and can be removed by clearing the site's storage there.
✉️ Questions or requests
To delete synced data, use Profile → Delete account. To remove data stored while signed out, clear Meditation Monkey's site or app storage on each device where you used it.
The in-app problem report is only for general privacy feedback. If you send one, it includes your message and the technical details disclosed above. It collects no account identity or contact information, so we cannot identify your account, fulfill an access or deletion request, or reply to you.
